PR: Larchmont Realtors Host Japanese Counterparts

A lively exchange of innovative ideas and information was the focus of a recent visit of senior officers from the newly opened Japan Sotheby’s International Realty to the Larchmont office of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. The event was planned to build relationships between the firm’s Japan and U.S. offices, and to provide the company’s professionals with a greater knowledge of each other’s markets, real estate practices, geographic regions, and cultures so they can better serve their clients and work together most effectively.

The Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont and Chappaqua offices of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty were the logical choice for the location of the Japan team’s first visit to Sotheby’s International Realty’s U.S. offices. An increasingly large number of Japanese business professionals working in the New York City area are choosing to buy real estate in Westchester County, and a large number of American business professionals who are buying property in Japan are from the Westchester County area.

Approximately 40 agents from the Larchmont office attended the mutually beneficial educational program that included an informative presentation given by the Japan team, members of which are CEO Mr. Kitami, COO Mr. Takeda, and General Manager Mr. Kanno. Jim Whittemore, Manager of the Larchmont Brokerage of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, introduced the Japan team and participated in the event, which was coordinated by Senior Advisors Mr. Hattori and Alan Parter.

Topics covered included similarities and differences between the U.S. and Japan real estate markets in terms of the specific responsibilities of brokers, clients’ lifestyle requirements, and the types of luxury residences available in each country. After the presentation and subsequent discussion, the Japan team was given a tour of Larchmont to learn more about the region.

Japan Sotheby’s International Realty opened its first new office to serve the prestigious markets of Tokyo and Yokahama, and is poised to open additional offices in Japan over the next several years, further expanding the firm’s unrivalled global real estate network. Sotheby’s International Realty’s worldwide network includes more than 11,000 sales associates located in more than 500 offices in the United States as well as 40 other countries and territories. The company’s brokers and clients also benefit from an association with Sotheby’s auction house and world-wide Sotheby’s International Realty marketing programs.
