William Dentzer Jr., David Hachey and Kathryn Parter have joined the board of trustees of At Home on the Sound, bringing a depth of knowledge and work in the Larchmont-Mamaroneck community to the organization that is helping residents stay in their own homes as they grow older.
“We are delighted that these outstanding individuals have agreed to lend their time and talent to our organization,” said Lynn Reichgott, president of At Home on the Sound. “Each will play an important role in helping us reach out to the senior adults in our community who will benefit from our services.”

Mr. Dentzer, who moved to Larchmont with his wife and five children in 1969, said he joined the board “because I was impressed by the commitment of this volunteer group’s founders to its mission and the competence they displayed in developing it.”
Mr. Dentzer is a former chair of the Larchmont Public Library and most recently chaired the community study group that explored the possibility of shared services for the tri-municipal area. He retired as the founding chairman and CEO of The Depository Trust Company (DTC) in New York, now the basis of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation.
Mr. Hachey, who lives in Mamaroneck with his wife and two children, is the senior managing director and financial advisor at the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. An outdoor enthusiast, he has served on the Facilities Committee of Mamaroneck Avenue School and the Selection Committee as well as a volunteer travel soccer coach and lecturer at St. Vito’s.
Ms. Parter, who has lived in Larchmont with her husband Alan and four children since 1981, said she is pleased to be part of At Home on the Sound because the organization “allows for age diversity, which contributes immensely to the enrichment and vitality of our community.”
Ms. Parter has volunteered in various PTA roles as well as at Mamaroneck High School’s College Information Center and for the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Fundraising Gala as well as for the Junior League. She also served as a commissioner for the Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Department for seven years. She presently works for Personal Risk Management Solutions whose specialty is personal property and casualty insurance, where she is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships primarily in the Westchester area. At the same time, she continues to be a lead sales consultant for Doncaster, a luxury women’s apparel direct sale company.
At Home on the Sound was founded by a group of residents who realized they wanted to stay in the community where they’ve established deep roots as they grew older. After more than two years of hard work to determine what residents would want in such an organization, what the program would offer to avoid duplication with existing services, raising funds and establishing itself as a not-for-profit, At Home on the Sound began accepting members in June 2010.
Volunteers for At Home on the Sound provides transportation to doctors’ appointments and errands, serve as trained volunteer patient advocates to accompany members to doctors visits, and provide help with errands and household tasks. Health and cultural programs are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month in addition to other ways to bring people together.
