Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Rose J Magrino

Rose J Magrino, 87,a 21-year resident of Dumont Home of New Rochelle died on February 25, 2011 at Sound Shore Medical Center. Rose was born in Mamaroneck on September 3, 1923,the youngest of six children to Katherine DeSimilli and Anthony Magrino, both deceased and predeceased by all siblings: Michael Magrino, Robert Magrino, Lucille(Sr. Loretta Catherine),Philomena Wandell of Harrison, Katherine Andrews of Wappinger’s Falls. Survivors include 11 nieces and nephews . She attended Holy Trinity Grammar and Bellows HS.

Even though she had been stricken with Polio she worked at the following jobs: Mamaroneck Glass Co., Magrino Bros.Taxi and TMC until retiring. Her deep faith led her to become a member of the 3rd Order of St Francis for which she was extremely proud. Visiting hours from 9am-10:30am Thursday, March 3 at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck followed by 11am Mass at Most Holy Trinity Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
